London Craft Beer Festival 2013 – in Pictures & Video
The week of August 12th will go down as one of the most beer drenched week London has seen for a long time. Finishing the proceedings was the weekend long celebration of the good stuff that was ‘London Craft Beer Festival’. All in all, the festival was a resounding success, with great reactions from both punters and brewers alike. As we let our brains de-haze enough to write up a review of the event, here is a video and a few pictures to hopefully give you an idea of what went down.
The venue for the festival was the ‘Oval Space’, a Bethnal Green event venue overlooking some imposing industrial gas towers. There was a healthy sized main room with the brewers lining the edges, and a veranda where Ginger Pig was cooking up a storm.
Most of the stalls were manned by the brewers themselves, which definitely added to the event’s vibe and helped the more casual drinkers find out more about the great beers on offer.
London was well represented at the festival, with eleven of the breweries at the event coming from the Big Smoke. Special kudos goes out to Alec Doherty, the designer and builder of Partizan’s custom signage.
The Mikkeller team were out in force at the festival, with their very own resident DJ.
It was great to see an event like LCBF finally happen in London, and it hopefully went a lot towards pushing good beer forward in the capital. Watch out this week for our full writeup of the event.
